The Birthday Weekend

On Saturday, Nana had the whole family come over to celebrate the April and May birthdays: Daddy, Nana, April, Jessica, and Eryn. There was a lot of food and cake for everybody. Jessica and Emmy had a blast throwing water balloons at each other in the backyard.
Sunday was Alex's birthday party.

It was held at the ice skating rink. It was Jessica's second time ice skating. She got pretty good and had an awesome time. Jessica and Maya (BFF's) had a blast together as well:) And Jessica is having her birthday in a couple of weeks. So many birthdays in Spring!

Getting Glamorous Ideas for Jessica's Birthday Party

Jessica will be turning 6 years old on May 1! How time flies! Jessica mentioned she wanted to have a Bratz theme birthday party. The idea slowly evolved into a glamorous birthday party! Jessica loves to dress up, get her hair done, and put on makeup. This would be very appropriate for her. We sent birthday invitations to her friends the other day. We are planning the party at Snip Its for Kids on May 5: Cinco de Mayo day! We think it will be fun for the girls to celebrate Jessica's birthday and Cinco de Mayo on the same day:)

We even learned how to get creative and come up with some of our own fashion sets! It just helps get us in the mood for the upcoming glamorous birthday party!

We can't wait till Jessica's fun fashion party and can't believe she is turning 6 in less than a month!

He is Risen!

On Easter morning, when the girls woke up, they found what the good Easter Bunny left them: a basket of chocolates and goodies! So cute! We even noticed the Easter Bunny had left two small bites of the carrots Jessica left out for him the night before. He really did come!

After Kayla and Jessica found their baskets, they got ready for church. We remember the true meaning of Easter: the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. It was so good to go to mass on Easter Sunday and hear the story of Jesus dying on the cross for our sins, then Mary of Magdala finding his tomb empty on Easter Morning.

After the church service, we ate lunch at an Italian place. We went to the park and got some sunshine, then to Mimi's house for dinner. It was a very nice Easter this year.

Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday day morning: it was the day before Easter. Jessica woke up early and colored some pictures. In the afternoon, she had a fun Easter Egg Hunt in the front and back yard.

Kayla did not want to participate in the egg hunt.

Later that night, before they went to bed, Kayla did help Jessica leave some carrots out for the Easter Bunny...

The family was looking forward to a visit from the Easter Bunny and going to church the next morning:)

Good Friday

We painted Easter Eggs on Good Friday.

Actually, Kayla and Jessica painted the eggs without my help.

They did a good job!

They also baked these Easter Cookies:

Not sure if the Easter Bunny would eat these, but we do know he loves it when kids leave him out carrots the night before he comes.

We went to the mall afterward and ate lunch:

We did some more Easter shopping! We waited for the Easter Bunny to come:

The Easter Bunny finally came. We didn't have to wait in line too long.

Jessica told the Easter Bunny what she wanted and gave him a hug!

Holy Thursday

On the Thursday before Easter, the girls and I went shopping for Easter dresses! After shopping we stopped at the park for a few minutes. Jessica and Kayla play on the teeter totter!

What a fun way to end the day. Tomorrow on Good Friday, we plan on painting eggs.

The Wild Side
